About Us

Helping Veterans Move Forward

Move Forward Pilates Foundation is a Virginia-based non-profit dedicated to serving disabled U.S.

Military veterans through structured, low-impact reformer Pilates programs.

Our foundation was created to support veterans in rebuilding strength, stability, and confidence trough disciplined movement.

We understand that military service places lasting demands on the body and mind, and our programs are designed to address mobility challenges, posture alignment, core stability, and overall wellness in a safe and supportive environment.

Our Mission

To provide free, Pilates-based fitness programs and instructor training opportunities that help disabled U.S. military veterans rebuild strength, restore independence, and move forward toward lifelong wellness.

Our Vision

A future where disabled veterans across the United States have access to structured, low-impact reformer Pilates programs that support lifelong mobility, resilience, and meaningful opportunity

Core Values

Service

We are grounded in service. Our foundation honors the sacrifice of disabled U.S. military veterans by providing structured, meaningful support through movement.

Strength

Strength is both physical and mental. Through controlled, low-impact reformer Pilates, we help veterans rebuild stability, improve posture, increase endurance, and strengthen the mind-body connection.

Access

Wellness should not be limited by financial barriers. We provide free programs to eligible veterans, ensuring those with 80–100% VA disability ratings have access to safe, professional instruction.

Integrity

We maintain high standards in program delivery, instructor training, and participant care. Safety, responsibility, and structured guidance remain central to everything we offer.

FOUNDED IN SERVICE. BUILT ON PURPOSE
Veteran-Led. Mission-Driven. Community-Focused

Move Forward Pilates Foundation was founded by Dr. Kimberly “Safari” Brown-Mason with the steadfast support of her husband, Eric Mason, Sr.

Dr. Brown-Mason is a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel and former senior federal executive with more than 25 years of leadership in public service. Throughout her military and federal career, she witnessed firsthand the long-term physical demands that service can place on the body.

After retiring, she became a certified reformer Pilates instructor and recognized the powerful role structured movement can play in rebuilding strength, stability, posture, and functional mobility.

Eric Mason, Sr., a retired U.S. Army veteran, serves as partner, advocate, and operational support in advancing the foundation’s mission.

Together, they established Move Forward Pilates Foundation to create a pathway for veterans to rebuild strength, restore confidence, and rediscover purpose through guided movement.

Move Forward Pilates Foundation represents a continuation of service — serving those who served by helping veterans move forward physically, personally, and professionally.
